After a huge shock and almost complete shutdown, the news about the Pfizer/BioNTech and other vaccine trials gave back the hope to the travel industry. More and more flight companies and travel agencies reported the rise and immediate spike in searches and bookings for the next year's spring and summer.
The Skyscanner's datas show up 48% after the pharma companies announced their developments. The things look more positive and the demand has increased again for the international trips. The people are looking for summer holidays on the Maldives but the Canaries and Caribbean, New York, Florida are also among the most popular destinations - based on the British Airways and British Airways Holidays reports.
What is more now it is much cheaper to book a flight and a holiday even for the near future. For January the best deals are Budapest, Barcelona and Krakow.
Budapest is almost completely empty now due to the governmental regulations - the majority of the flights were cancelled and the hotels can not accomodate tourists, only business travelers. For the beginning of the year the agents hope this will change. Those people could win a lot who are brave enough to book now. There is a huge drop in the prices: not just for the flights, but the accomodations, hotels, Airbnb-s and airport transfer companies are also offering their services for a much cheaper price than before. For example from Budapest Airport to the city centre a private airport transfer is only 18EUR for one way now. The same route for a 8-seater minivan is 24EUR by the transfer company Budtransfer.
For March you can still book accomodation with low cost flight ticket in Ibiza, Mallorca, Berlin and Warsaw. The flights to Spain in April amazingly cheap now on Skyscanner and it will be affordable to travel to those countries where they handled the pandemic well - eastern European and Scandinavian countries. New countries could join to the group as the travel experts are probably already working on their own holiday packages to get back the travelers.
