Jedermann Café has been a renowned jazz hangout back then when it was the ‘official’ café of the Goethe institute, and it was called Eckermann. After many years now the institute was moved from Andrássy út to Ráday, so did Eckermann. Hans van Vliet (who is a jazz musician himself) renamed it Jedermann and has taken over to make it his own.
Hans has contributed to the success of numerous other bars and cafés in Budapest; however Jedermann Café is his first independent venture. No wonder there’s so much soul in this place in an uberchilled old-style cafe/restaurant with a little stage for jazz concerts and all sorts of jazzy gigs, funk and delicious changing food menu.
